“Fabulous accommodation with expansive views out to sea. Allports was the perfect base from which to explore Flinders. Great common spaces and amenities, comfy beds and proximity to the beach. We prepared most of our own meals at home as it was winter, so not all the usual summer dining options were open, but when we did head out, we enjoyed great meals at the pubs in both Whitemark and Lady Baron. The local IGA was well stocked, with an excellent range of fresh produce, and the kitchen at Allports Beach House had everything you could need for a week on the island. There was a good selection of games and books, and Jo also provided lots of suggestions for walks and adventures on the island. We will definitely be back! Thanks so much, Jo, for a lovely stay.”

“This place was a fantastic place to stay. It’s my first time on the Island, but having driven around and visited all the other towns I can confidently say that this looks like one of the best locations to set yourself up for a stay. The view was really nice and the house itself felt very private. The house had a lovely, relaxed feel and looked better than the photos. It was great for my wife and I and would be equally great for a family or group. The bed was very comfy, shower was great, and the kitchen was very well stocked. The fresh bread, eggs, and flowers were a lovely addition and so too was the proper coffee machine (make sure you bring or buy ground coffee not beans).

The hosts are lovely; we were due to stay somewhere else, but a plumbing issue curtailed that, and the hosts were amazing at sorting this property instead, with no hassle on our end. Very close to Whitemark and a short drive to all the areas we wished to explore. Fresh-baked bread plus eggs and some lovely homemade apricot jam was a delight for breakfast. Echo Hills cottage has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Right from the beginning, there is a loaf of homemade bread cooking as you walk in the door. The cupboards are full of cooking utensils, and many other items you may need. The Cottage was spotless, fresh and very homely. A wood heater for those chilly nights and also a heat pump if you don’t feel like lighting a fire. The beds were very comfortable and so warm. The fresh flowers placed all around the rooms were a very nice touch. We will definitely be back.

If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful and relaxing, you can’t beat Echo Hills. While it’s a little bit out of Whitemark, it’s in a picturesque, quiet location. The fresh flowers in our rooms, the fresh farm eggs and the homemade bread were all appreciated!
